There’s a particular kind of tired that comes from never really leaving where you work. Not burnout, exactly, just the awareness that everything you’re responsible for is always nearby. In Prince Edward County, where work and home often overlap by design, this feels less like an exception and more like the norm. From permits and projects to interviews and ideas still taking shape, much of life here unfolds mid-process, quietly and close to home.

Winter in Prince Edward County is quieter, but far from still. Build Me Up reflects on permits, patience, and the people shaping winter in PEC; from behind-the-scenes planning to the learning curves that come with building permits, environmental regulations, and staying connected with people when the pace slows. A personal journal about local life, shared experiences, and what becomes visible when things quiet down.

After nearly a decade living in Prince Edward County, I’ve come to understand it as a place of overlap between locals and newcomers, businesses and residents, tourists and those who stay. "Both Sides, Now" re-introduces PEC Connect and this journal, cheekily titled "Personally Exploring the County". It's my personal record of local life, lived experience, and the quiet work of connection in a place often framed as divided. Join me as we journey towards bringing it all togethe
