Golf Clinic Raises Funds to Support Reaching for Rainbows Girls Program
Date: July 11, 2023
A special women’s golf clinic at the Picton Golf Club combined skill-building with community giving, raising funds to support young girls enrolled in the Reaching for Rainbows after-school program.

The event featured instruction from Sandra Post, an Order of Canada recipient and eight-time Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) champion, who shared her expertise with local women golfers. She was joined by Casey Ward, a Prince Edward County native and Director of Instruction at Credit Valley Golf and Country Club, who also provided coaching during the clinic.
Participants not only worked on improving their golf game but also helped make a difference beyond the course. At the conclusion of the event, Jane Wollenberg, Chair of the Board for Reaching for Rainbows, was presented with a $1,800 donation raised through the clinic.
Reaching for Rainbows, founded in 2010 and based at St. Andrew’s Church in Picton, offers a play-based after-school program for young girls and their families. The program focuses on building healthy relationships, encouraging positive decision-making, and strengthening confidence, belonging, and resilience.
The clinic was organized by Women, Worth & Wellness, led by founder Nancy Griffin, whose organization focuses on empowering women through wellness and community engagement.
Local sponsors also supported the event, including Tracey Dickson of Royal Heritage Realty, Joanne Coker of BMO Nesbitt Burns, and Laura from The Golf Studio, a newly opened Picton business. Sponsors contributed door prizes and helped ensure the day’s success.
