Local Music Group Honoured for Years of Community Giving
Longtime community supporters Peter Rea and The Reasons were recognized with a Civic Recognition Award during the Prince Edward County council meeting on February 13.
The local music group was nominated by Councillor Roy Pennell in appreciation of their years of volunteerism and charitable involvement across the County. Their contributions include performances at fundraising events, support for the local hospital, and regular visits to seniors’ residences to bring music and companionship to residents.
County officials highlighted the group’s commitment during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they adapted their performances by playing outdoors at long-term care homes, helping to lift spirits during a challenging time.
Mayor Steve Ferguson praised the group for consistently bringing joy and connection to residents, noting their dedication to supporting the community when it was needed most.
