Ready to ease into the warmer months in Prince Edward County?
May 2026 in the County brings a refreshing mix of seasonal experiences, creative gatherings, and community-focused events that mark the start of a vibrant spring-summer transition. From immersive tasting experiences and local showcases to family-friendly activities and fashion-inspired workshops, the month highlights the County’s strong sense of creativity, culture, and connection. It’s a great time for residents to step out, explore, and take part in events that celebrate local talent and seasonal energy.
Celebrate County Terroir
Date(s): May 2, 2026, 11:00 AM–3:00 PM
Location: The Eddie Hotel & Farm, PEC, Ontario
Tickets: $18 in advance; $25 at the door (includes tasting glass and samples).

Description: Celebrate County Terroir is a walk-around tasting event showcasing the essence of the County’s wine and cider region. Guests can explore how local climate, limestone-rich soils, and dedicated producers shape the character of each pour. The event features a curated selection of wineries and cideries offering tastings under one roof, along with opportunities to meet producers, enjoy live music, and learn more about terroir through expert talks. Food options are available on site, and select wines and ciders can be purchased to take home.
Tickets: $18 in advance; $25 at the door (includes tasting glass and samples).
PEC Wedding Show
Date(s): May 23, 2026
Location: The County, PEC, Ontario
Tickets: $20 per person

Description: An immersive, locally focused wedding show featuring the County’s top wedding professionals in a curated, experiential setting. Guests can explore vendor displays, enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, live oyster shucking, interactive tasting passport menus, photo booths, giveaways, and a runway showcase highlighting local wedding style and creativity. Designed as more of an experience than a traditional expo, it encourages guests to spend the day with partners, family, or friends while engaging with County-based talent and services. Garden cocktail attire is encouraged.
Kids Fashion Workshop
Date(s): May 31, 2026, 1:00 PM–4:00 PM

Location: Department of Illumination Studio, lower level of the Armoury, Picton, Ontario
Tickets: Free admission.
Description: As part of Picton Fashion Week, this free interactive workshop invites children to explore fashion, creativity, and self-expression in a fun and supportive environment. Participants can design their own fashion looks, receive optional model coaching, and, if they choose, take part in the fashion show runway experience. The event encourages creativity, confidence, and imagination, and is open to all children interested in fashion and design.
Spring Forest Family Day with Pete Moss

Location: Macaulay Heritage Park (Stone Room at the back of Macaulay House), PEC, Ontario

Description: A family-friendly spring event featuring interactive nature activities, live music, and outdoor-inspired fun. Led by Pete Moss, the program is designed to engage children and families through hands-on experiences, storytelling, and musical participation, all set within the historic Macaulay Heritage Park. The afternoon focuses on celebrating spring in a relaxed, welcoming environment with opportunities for creativity, learning, and connection to nature.
Swing into Spring with the PEC Jazz Festival

Location: The Waring House Restaurant & Inn, Picton

Description: A lively kickoff event for the 2026 Prince Edward County Jazz Festival season, featuring a night of music and dancing with The Crap Shooters Jive Band. The event blends a concert and dance experience, showcasing talented musicians like Dan Douglas and Spencer Evans. Attendees will also get an exclusive first look at the upcoming festival’s main stage lineup and early ticket information. Snacks and a bar will be available on-site, making it a fun and social evening for jazz lovers and community members alike.
County: The Way Home (Julie Seddon Exhibition)
Date(s): May 8 – June 17, 2026
Location: County Arts Lab Exhibition Vitrines, Unit 2E, 206 Main Street, The Armoury, Picton
Tickets: Free

Description: County: The Way Home showcases the work of Julie Seddon, exploring two key aspects of her artistic process. The exhibition features photographs capturing moments where the natural and built environments meet through reflections on glass, alongside painted interpretations that further abstract and express these scenes. By revealing this process, the exhibit invites viewers to see everyday window reflections in a new, more layered and mysterious way. An opening reception will be held on May 8 from 6–8 PM.
