Burn Permit Activation Line Temporarily Out of Service

Prince Edward County Fire & Rescue is advising residents that the telephone line normally used to activate burn permits is currently unavailable.

While the dedicated phone service is down, residents can still activate their burn permits online. Permit holders are asked to visit the County’s burn permit website, log into their account, and select the “Register Open Burn” option to notify the fire department before burning.

Alternatively, residents may activate their permit by calling the fire department directly at 613-476-2345 and providing their name and address to staff.

Fire officials remind residents that activating a burn permit is required before conducting any open-air burning within the County.
