Date: February 16, 2024

Residents across The County are invited to come together and celebrate Family Day on Monday, Feb. 17, with a variety of free activities and events taking place throughout the day.
The municipality, along with local community partners and volunteers, has organized several family-friendly opportunities designed to encourage connection, fun, and community spirit.
At the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville St.), public skating will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., courtesy of the Wellington Recreation Committee. Highline Hall will also host activities during the same hours, including games and reading programs with the Wellington Rotary Club and County Kids Read, as well as family fun activities hosted by the Prince Edward Lions Club. Free soup and chili will be served by the Wellington Rotary Club from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors can also stop by information booths in the lobby featuring the OPP, South Shore Joint Initiative, County Transit, Prince Edward County Libraries, and the County of Prince Edward.
The Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main St.) will also offer public skating from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by the Prince Edward County Professional Firefighters Association Local 2745.
Families looking for a creative and outdoor experience can head to Macaulay House (35 Church St.) for “Making Memories at Macaulay,” hosted by The County Museums from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include creating a mini family photo album using book-binding techniques, enjoying free cider and snacks by the hearth, and taking a family hike through Macaulay Mountain. Admission is free, with donations to The County Museums appreciated.
Residents are encouraged to take part in these events and enjoy a day focused on family, community, and fun across Prince Edward County.
