Emergency crews were dispatched to a trail located north of Cleveland Road in Tudor and Cashel Township on Sunday, April 7, just before 3:30 p.m. According to Ontario Provincial Police, a side-by-side off-road vehicle had veered off the trail and overturned into a body of deep water.

Central Hastings OPP officers, along with firefighters from Madoc Township, worked to remove the driver from the submerged vehicle. Hastings-Quinte Paramedics also attended the scene.

Despite life-saving efforts, the 65-year-old man was pronounced dead at the location. Police confirmed he was a resident of The County.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
