According to Prince Edward County OPP, officers were called to the school after receiving information about a possible weapon on school grounds. Police attended the scene promptly, located the individuals involved, and conducted an investigation.

OPP later clarified through a post on the social media platform X that the item in question was not a real weapon. “The individuals were identified and spoken with, and the item was determined to be a toy,” police stated, adding that there was no ongoing safety concern.

Police also addressed online speculation surrounding the incident, noting that rumours circulating on social media were inaccurate. OPP emphasized that at no time was there a genuine threat and reassured the community that the situation was handled quickly and safely.
