Now in its 14th year, the annual bake off has generated more than $34,000 for the County’s hospital, thanks to the combined efforts of volunteer bakers, judges, auctioneers, and bidders.

This year’s event featured over 20 baked entries, evaluated by local volunteer judges before being auctioned off to supporters eager to contribute to the cause. The auction was led by volunteer auctioneer Ken Tulloch, whose lively exchange with bidders helped drive up donations, including a best-in-show key lime pie that sold for $1,100.

More than a dozen bakers, three judges, and roughly 30 bidders took part in the challenge, with proceeds earmarked for major medical equipment purchases for the new County hospital.

Shannon Coull, executive director of PECMHF, credited the continued success of the bake off to the strong partnership between the hospital foundation and the Picton Agricultural Society, which has supported local health care through the fair for more than a decade.

Susan Harrington, president of the Picton Fair Board, thanked everyone who participated whether baking, bidding, volunteering, or attending the fair saying the community’s generosity once again made a meaningful difference.

With this year’s contribution, the Agricultural Society’s total donations to the hospital foundation now stand at $34,160.
