Recharge at These 5 PEC Spas & Wellness Spots

Updated: Jan 23

Prince Edward County (PEC) is the perfect place to unwind, with its laid-back vibe and scenic beauty. The County has some amazing spots to relax and rejuvenate. Whether you’re craving a soothing spa day or a unique wellness experience, here are five of PEC’s best spas and wellness centers where you can recharge like a pro.

1. Body Matrix Movement Studio – Stretch, Strengthen, and Rebalance

Not all wellness in The County is about traditional spas – Body Matrix Movement Studio in Picton focuses on fitness and mindful movement as a path to feeling your best. This welcoming studio offers a variety of classes like Pilates (mat and Reformer), Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis sessions, as well as myofascial stretching to improve mobility.

The vibe here is casual, inclusive, and super friendly – all ages, sizes, and experience levels are celebrated in this body-positive space. If you’re traveling and want to keep up your yoga or workout routine (or try something new), check out their schedule. They have experienced instructors who give plenty of personal attention, ensuring you get a safe and effective workout.

Local tip: Body Matrix even offers a 20% discount for seniors and County residents, showing their commitment to accessible wellness for the community. Whether you drop in for a morning stretch class or book a one-on-one session, you’ll leave feeling looser, stronger, and more centered.

It’s a fantastic way to recharge your body and mind, especially after a few days of touring PEC’s wineries and restaurants!

2. Goat Yoga with Mikenze – Find Your Zen (with Goats!)

For a truly one-of-a-kind wellness experience in PEC, you have to try Goat Yoga. Yes, you read that right – yoga with goats.

A woman practices yoga on a mat outdoors with goats around her, creating a playful and relaxing atmosphere. She wears a pink top.

Hosted at a farm in Ameliasburgh and it’s exactly as it sounds. During this one-hour outdoor class, friendly goats wander around and might hop by your yoga mat as you stretches. The sessions are held under a tent from May through October, and all levels – including total beginners and even kids are welcome.

Mikenze, a certified instructor, keeps the yoga easy-going and lighthearted; the focus is on relaxation and laughter rather than perfect poses. You’ll take breaks to pet and cuddle the goats, who often provide comic relief by nibbling on hair or climbing on your back during child’s pose. It’s hard to stress about anything with baby goats frolicking around! By the end, participants usually feel “refreshed, relaxed and with a deeper connection to ... nature,” not to mention a big smile on their face.

Goat Yoga is insanely popular (because, of course!). This is one PEC wellness adventure you’ll be telling all your friends about. 🐐🧘‍♀️

Bonus Tip: If goat yoga isn’t enough animal therapy for you, Mikenze even offers Puppy Yoga sessions on request – because cuddling puppies is good for the soul too!

3. Wander The Resort – Nordic Spa by the Lake

Wander The Resort’s Nordic spa features hot pools, saunas, and a cold plunge overlooking West Lake. If you’re looking for a truly special spa experience, Wander The Spa at Wander The Resort is a must-visit!

Snowy spa setting with round hot tub, wooden fence, hanging white robe, and snow-covered tree softly lit. Calm, serene atmosphere.

Offering a 10,000 sq ft thermotherapy circuit nestled among the sand dunes of West Lake. Here you can disconnect to reconnect – cycle between a cedar sauna, steam room, hot tubs, and an icy cold plunge, then relax by the fireside lounge or even on the spa’s private Whisper Beach.

This subterranean spa’s contemporary design merges with nature, creating an oasis of intention and restoration. Day passes start around $95, giving you up to four hours of bliss as you soak, sweat, cool down, and repeat.

Treat yourself to a massage or a guided Aufguss sauna ritual on-site for the full rejuvenation effect. Wander’s Nordic spa is open year-round (closed only on Tuesdays) so you can enjoy it in any season – just imagine a steamy soak on a cold winter day, looking out at the lake!

4. The Royal Hotel Spa – Heritage Charm & Modern Wellness

Royal Hotel offers not only elegant accommodations and dining, but also a top-notch spa and wellness club! The Spa at The Royal is all about personalized, therapeutic treatments – their skilled aestheticians and registered massage therapists tailor each facial or massage to your needs, using Comfort Zone, a renowned Italian skincare line.

Spa room with a neatly folded robe on a bed, a vase with a white flower, and rolled towels on a counter. Warm lighting creates a calm mood.

This spa is open year-round and welcomes both hotel guests and visitors. In fact, if you’re not staying overnight, you can grab a Day Pass for about $30 to enjoy the Royal’s wellness facilities, including a modern gym, a traditional Finnish sauna, and a gorgeous heated saltwater pool.

The pool is an oasis in town – kept at a toasty ~89°F with jacuzzi jets and cushioned daybeds for lounging. After a workout or swim, you can unwind in the sauna and then head upstairs to the Royal’s restaurant for a farm-to-table meal. The blend of 19th-century charm and contemporary wellness amenities makes The Royal’s spa a favorite local retreat.

5. Claramount Spa

Another beloved spot to get pampered is the Claramount Spa, located in a beautifully restored colonial mansion on Picton Bay.

Two people receive massages on tables; a spa setting with candles, jars, and towels. The mood is relaxed and serene.

Reborn as part of the new Claramount Club but still delivers when it comes to wellness. The spa features multiple indoor treatment rooms and even small wellness facilities – including an infrared sauna, an outdoor hot tub, and a heated saltwater pool under a retractable roof. It’s a serene setting with lush gardens and waterfront views, so your relaxation begins as soon as you step onto the property.

Claramount’s menu of services ranges from classic massages and facials to unique signature treatments that draw inspiration from local ingredients. For example, their Maple Antioxidant Wrap uses the County’s own maple syrup in a scrub and warm syrup application – infusing your skin with antioxidants and minerals for a nourishing glow. They even offer a fun Beer Pedicure, where your feet soak in enzymes from a local brewery to soften calluses (yes, beer can be spa-worthy!).

After your treatment, you can enjoy a cup of maple tea or wander to Clara’s restaurant on-site for a light bite. Friendly and professional, the Claramount Spa staff make sure every guest feels rejuvenated and looked after.

Final Thoughts

Prince Edward County may be known for its wineries and beaches, but it’s also brimming with ways to rejuvenate your body and spirit. Each of these five spas and wellness spots matches the local character. So go ahead and pamper yourself in The County.
