Carrying Place Swing Bridge to Close Overnight for Maintenance June 20–23

Motorists are advised that the Carrying Place Swing Bridge will be temporarily closed overnight later this month to allow crews to complete scheduled maintenance work.

The closure will take place each night from June 20 through the morning of June 23, with the bridge closed between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily.

The swing bridge spans the Murray Canal and carries traffic along County Road 33 (Loyalist Parkway), just north of Carrying Place. During the maintenance period, all vehicle traffic will be stopped in both directions.

Detour Information

Drivers are asked to use the Brighton Road Swing Bridge on County Road 64 as an alternate route. This detour is located approximately five kilometres west of the Carrying Place crossing.

Officials have indicated that the work is not expected to impact marine traffic, and boat navigation through the canal will remain open during the overnight closures.
