Date: October 08, 2023

Red no symbol over black flames on white background, indicating no fire allowed. Bold, clear design conveys prohibition.

A total burn ban is now in place across the County of Prince Edward, effective Sunday, October 8, due to forecasted high winds expected to exceed 35 km/h.

The ban applies to all forms of outdoor burning, including brush piles, campfires, burn barrels, and any open flames. The measure is intended to reduce the risk of fires spreading rapidly under hazardous weather conditions.

Fire Chief Chad Brown monitors weather patterns and ground conditions on an ongoing basis to determine when restrictions are necessary. The burn ban will remain in effect until conditions improve and it is deemed safe to lift the restrictions.
