Date: October 31, 2023

Red "CLOSED" sign hanging on a string against a white background. The sign is rectangular with bold white letters, conveying closure.

Beginning Tuesday, October 31, a revised traffic detour will be implemented as part of Phase 2 of the West Mary Street sanitary sewer reconstruction project.

As a result, Ferguson Street will be closed to all through traffic between West Mary Street and Grove Street. This closure will remain in effect until further notice.

The temporary shutdown is necessary to allow crews to complete sanitary sewer installation work at the entrance of Rotary Park. Traffic control measures will be clearly posted, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and avoid the construction zone whenever possible.

Officials confirm that the work is not expected to disrupt water quality or sanitary sewer services. However, residents who notice discolored water caused by construction vibrations are advised to flush the cold-water tap closest to their water meter until the water becomes clear once construction activity has ended.

An update will be shared once Ferguson Street is reopened to traffic.
