Festival of Trees Raises $51,000 for Local Hospital
Supporters of the Festival of Trees helped raise $51,000 for Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.
The money was raised during the 30th annual Festival of Trees, held Dec. 1–3, and was presented by the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary to the hospital foundation. The funds will be used to buy a transport ventilator for the hospital’s emergency department.

A transport ventilator helps patients breathe when they cannot do so on their own. It can be used for patients of all ages and will stay with them during treatment or while being moved within or outside the hospital.
Hospital leaders say the new equipment will help staff respond quickly in emergencies and provide continuous care.
The Auxiliary thanked more than 100 volunteers, along with community groups, sponsors, donors, musicians, and businesses who helped make the event a success. Special thanks were given to Isaiah Tubbs for donating the space and to everyone who donated, baked, shopped, or bid on auction items.
New this year was a bake sale, which sold out by early Saturday afternoon.
Organizers say the community’s generosity exceeded expectations, especially during a difficult financial year, and the funds will go directly toward priority medical equipment that the hospital needs but is not covered by government funding.
Community support like this helps ensure patients can receive quality care close to home.
