Date: June 11, 2023
Local community leaders gathered this week to celebrate the success of the 2023 Municipal Community Grant Program, which delivered more than $240,000 in funding and in-kind assistance to organizations serving residents across the municipality.

A total of 39 not-for-profit and community-based groups benefited from the program, which is designed to strengthen initiatives that enhance arts, culture, recreation, health, environmental stewardship, and human services.
Mayor Steve Ferguson praised the diversity and reach of the funded projects, noting that the program plays a vital role in building a stronger community.
The Municipal Community Grant Program operates through two funding streams—one for projects requesting under $5,000 and another for those seeking over $5,000. The program is administered by The County Foundation on behalf of the municipality.
According to Dominique Jones, Executive Director of The County Foundation, the selection process required careful consideration due to high demand.
This year, the program received 48 applications totaling $414,617 in requested cash and in-kind support. After review:
1 application was deemed ineligible
9 applications were not approved
15 projects received full funding
24 projects received partial funding
Ultimately, $240,248.90 was awarded to 39 successful applicants, ensuring continued delivery of programs and services that benefit residents throughout the community.
