Residents in Prince Edward County, Belleville, and surrounding regions are being advised of military training exercises taking place throughout mid-June.

Soldiers in camouflage uniforms and boots stand in line on a gravel surface, casting shadows. The mood is disciplined and orderly.

The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) will be conducting training activities between June 7 and June 23, according to Captain Nadine Abou Rjeily. Portions of the exercises will also extend into rural areas near Campbellford, Colborne, and Stirling.

During this period, members of the public may observe military vehicles, aircraft, and uncrewed aerial vehicles (drones) in operation. Both uniformed and plain-clothes military personnel may be present, and sounds related to explosives or personal weapons could be heard as part of the exercises.

Captain Abou Rjeily emphasized that steps are being taken to limit disruption to residents and businesses. She added that the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command appreciates the cooperation and support of local communities, noting that the training is essential to maintaining operational readiness and protecting Canada’s national interests.
