Picton Rotary Completes $100,000 Commitment to New County Hospital
The Rotary Club of Picton has officially fulfilled its $100,000 fundraising pledge in support of Prince Edward County’s new hospital, marking a major milestone in the community’s ongoing efforts to modernize local health care.
During a recent meeting at the Prince Edward Yacht Club, club president Don Leslie presented the final $32,000 contribution to representatives of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF). The funds represent the culmination of three years of community-driven fundraising tied to the foundation’s Back the Build campaign.

The Rotary Club raised the funds through club events and initiatives, including cash calendar sales, the Waterfalls Tour, Lilac Ride, and an annual golf tournament and online auction, with strong support from the wider community.
In recognition of the achievement, a room in the new hospital will be named in honour of the Rotary Club of Picton’s contribution.
Foundation officials expressed appreciation for the club’s long-standing partnership, noting that Picton Rotary has contributed more than $214,000 over the past two decades, supporting both essential hospital equipment and the development of the new hospital facility.
The new hospital project is intended to replace the existing aging building and ensure continued access to high-quality, modern health care close to home for residents of Prince Edward County.
