Residents in the Quinte region are being advised that the COVID, Cold and Flu Care Clinics in Belleville and Picton have officially closed as of March 31.

The clinics were launched last fall after Ontario Health provided temporary funding to support after-hours primary care services during the peak respiratory illness season. The goal was to ensure timely access to care while reducing pressure on local emergency departments.

A red and white "CLOSED" sign hangs from a suction cup. The sign is slightly angled, implying a storefront or business setting.

According to public health officials, the clinics were widely used by residents and individuals from surrounding communities, playing a key role in managing a demanding cold, flu, and COVID season. Their presence helped keep hospital resources available for urgent and critical cases. The Tweed clinic will continue operating until April 27.

These clinics were delivered through a collaborative effort involving Quinte Health, Gateway Community Health Centre, Belleville Quinte West Community Health Centre, Prince Edward Family Health Team, and numerous administrative, nursing, and primary care professionals.

For individuals without a primary care provider, or those unable to access their regular physician, several walk-in clinic options remain available for non-emergency medical concerns:
