Motorists are being advised of a new detour related to the ongoing sanitary sewer reconstruction on West Mary Street, effective Wednesday, August 23.

The project has now progressed to stage two of phase one, part of a three-stage approach designed to limit impacts on nearby residents and local traffic.

Road closed sign with orange lights and striped barricades blocks an empty highway. Trees and sky in the background, suggesting a calm scene.

As work continues, West Mary Street will be closed between Ontario Street and Spring Street. In addition, Ontario Street will be closed to through traffic at its intersection with West Mary Street.

Traffic control measures and signage will be in place throughout the construction zone. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area when possible and to use alternate routes to reduce congestion.

Residents seeking additional information about the project or traffic changes can contact the County of Prince Edward by phone at 613-476-2148 ext. 1023 or 613-962-9108 ext. 1023, or by email at info@pecounty.on.ca.
