Construction on the West Mary Street sanitary sewer reconstruction project is set to resume on Monday, April 8, as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements in west Picton.

Two people working on architectural blueprints at a desk, using pencils and rulers. Papers and measuring tape in a bright, focused setting.

The project involves replacing the existing sewer with a larger-capacity system designed to support future growth and development within the west Picton built boundary. During construction, West Mary Street will be closed between Lake Street and Spring Street.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour, which routes traffic along Ontario Street, South Street, James Avenue, and County Road 10. Local access will be maintained for nearby residents.

Due to construction activity, Rotary Park will be inaccessible for the duration of the project. Work is expected to be completed by June 2024. Residents will receive advance notice if temporary water or sewer service interruptions are required.
